Club Notes 20th August 2017

Seniors and Reserves

The reserves faced neighbours Castledawson in the first round of the championship last Monday evening. The team got off to a slow start and found themselves trailing after 20 minutes by 2 points. A Ryan McElhone goal in the 23rd minute edged the Bridge ahead in the 23rd minute and from here they retained the lead. A strong 3rd quarter saw the team open up a 12 point lead which set the platform for victory and despite Castledawsons late rally, it was all in vain as the Bridge ran out winners on a scoreline of Newbridge 4-13 Castledawson 3-11.

Newbridge scorers were J Diamond (1-02), R McElhone, R Carron & C Diamond (1-01 each), T Walls (0-03), N Mulholland & PJ O’Neill (0-02 each), P Murphy (0-01).

The team will face Slaughtneil Thirds in the quarter final with date tbc.

The seniors championship quarter final with Ballymaguigan will take place on Thursday 31st August in Bellaghy.
