Club Notes 9th April 2017

Seniors and Reserves

Both the seniors and reserves made the journey to Slaughtmanus on Sunday for the first league game of the season. The reserves played first and despite being wasteful in front of goal and playing the majority of the second half a man down after a harsh dismissal, they emerged victorious on a scoreline of Newbridge 2-13 Slaughtmanus 1-12.

Newbridge scorers were N Muholland (1-01), C Diamond (1-00), SP McCann (0-05), T Walls (0-03), PJ Oโ€™Neill (0-02), C Bateson & C Devlin (0-01 each).

The seniors played with a strong breeze in the first half surging into a 1-07 to 0-00 lead after 13 minutes and this proved to be the platform for a commanding half time lead. The second half saw a much more dogged performance against the breeze however a solid performance was rewarded with 2 league points. F/t score Newbridge 1-19 Slaughtmanus 0-09.

Newbridge scorers were D Mulholland (1-06), P McGrogan (0-07), P McGuigan (0-03), D McColgan, E Burke & K Sweeney (0-01 each).

Next up for both teams is Castledawson at home on Sunday 23rd April.
