Newbridge GAC Club Notes 10th April

Senior Football

The senior footballers started their league campaign at home to Swatragh on Sunday. Newbridge started well in the first half through a Peter McGrogan free in the first minute. Swatragh replied quickly with a point and a goal in quick succession, anther three points from Swatragh and two points from Peter left the score 1-4 to 0-3 at half time.

The second half saw a quick start from Swatragh with two quick fire points however much improvement from Newbridge after the restart saw them make a contest of the game. With a Swatragh sending off in the later stages of the second half allowing Newbridge to take advantage of their extra man and create some good chances. Some poor finishing however meant Newbridge were left to rue their missed chances and come away disappointed by one point defeat with a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-10.

The Newbridge scorers were:

Peter McGrogan 0-6 (4F)

Jude Diamond 0-3 (2F)

Nathan Rocks 0-1
